Code of Conduct
ML4H is dedicated to providing an environment that supports the open exchange of ideas, the freedom of thought and expression, and respectful scientific debate.
ML4H Code of Conduct
All participants — including organizers, reviewers, speakers, sponsors, and volunteers — must comply with this code during events and on official communication channels. Sponsors are equally subject to this Code of Conduct and may not use offensive imagery or materials.
Harassment and discrimination
ML4H is committed to preventing offensive comments based on protected characteristics such as race, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, religion, and national origin, as well as intimidation and personal attacks of any kind.
Inappropriate conduct
Sexual harassment, stalking, unwelcome physical contact, and disruptive behavior that prevents full participation are not tolerated.
Offensive materials
Content that is sexual or racial in nature and creates a toxic environment is prohibited.
Disruptive activity
Fighting, property damage, and disruption of virtual sessions (e.g., “Zoom bombing” with off-topic remarks) are not permitted.
Scientific misconduct
Fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism in submissions or presentations violate this code.
This policy applies to official symposium venues — physical and virtual — but not to unsponsored locations such as hotels or restaurants.
Reporting and enforcement
Organizers may impose warnings, expulsion without refund, future bans, or institutional reporting. Participants should report incidents to info@ml4h.cc. The symposium guarantees investigation within 24 hours for onsite complaints and two weeks otherwise, with confidentiality protections and no retaliation against good-faith reporters.
